The
Mohonasen
Foundation for Excellence, Inc. The
Mohonasen Foundation for Excellence enhances educational opportunities
for all Mohonasen students Through
grants to teachers, the Foundation funds projects that encourage
original approaches and inventive means for attaining educational
excellence. Since its founding in 1997, the Foundation has awarded
grants totaling over $32,000 for projects in the areas of science, technology, health,
language arts, social studies and career education. These projects enrich and broaden
educational opportunities for students at Bradt Primary School, Pinewood
Intermediate School, Draper Middle School and Mohonasen High School. Foundation
directors work to make the Mohonasen community aware of the statewide
push to raise academic achievement and prepare all students for the
demands of the 21st Century workplace. The Foundation serves as a vehicle through which
individuals, businesses and organizations can support that cause by
sharing resources and gifts
that go directly to advancing curriculum initiatives. Recognizing
the value of maintaining a tie with our graduates, the Foundation works to develop alumni relationships. In 2003 the Foundation published
an alumni directory that contains a history of the district going back to
1821 and lists graduates of Mohonasen and Draper from 1960 through 2001. The
Mohonasen Foundation for Excellence is a not-for-profit organization
whose mission is to promote excellence in the Mohonasen Schools.
It operates independently of the school district, both
financially and administratively. Volunteers who serve on the Foundation
board take pride in working on projects that
benefit our students, our schools and our community. |
